Non-awareness and the consciousness of you

Living consciously is tiring and difficult outside of a monastery. But you should try and live as consciously as possible.
Think of it this way, if your mind is racing ahead to the future or your emotions are twisted up in the past, how can anything speak to you in the now?

The universe only exists in the present, so if you aren't in the present how can it help you?

Next time you are travelling to work or school, drop into the now. Breath and look around. Don't allow your mind to chatter at you. Just look.

What do you see?

You will see people and you will see that they are completely disconnected from the moment. You are in fact standing all alone in a field of unawareness. You can have the universe all to yourself.
If there does happen to be someone else aware and sharing the moment, you will notice each other straight away.

If you are in the country and hence, no people, observe how all that is around you is basking in the present, all the trees and rocks and rivers and fields communing with each other.

Training the mind to stay in the now is very hard, but as its name suggest, it's a gift worth unwrapping.

All that read this will discover the power of now.
